BELARUS broadcasting bosses have narrowed a group of 90 acts down to just 15 after three days of auditions for its national final to find someone to represent the country in Moscow next May.
The broadcaster will be hoping to make more of an impact in Russia than it did in May's competition in Belgrade when it finished third bottom in the semi-final with Ruslan Alehno pleasing rendition of Hasta La Vista, with 27 points. announced
A total of 126 applications were received from artistes and songwriters to take part in the national EuroFest selection for the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.
TV producer Anastasiya Tihanovich said: "More than 90 singers came through the first round. After three full days of casting by a professional jury, BTRC can announce fifteen contestants for its national selection."
One of the following acts will represent Belarus in Moscow:

During a semi-final on December 15, a jury will pick five contestants for the final. In the final, scheduled for mid-January viewers will be able to vote for their favourite singers/singers to represent them Belarus' in the 2009 contest.
