MINSK. Dec 2 (Interfax) - Belarus, Russia, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania (BRELL) are preparing an agreement whereby these countries' grids will provide to each other emergency reserves of power, Belenergo said in a statement.
The issue was raised at a session of the BRELL Electricity Grids Committee's working group for planning and management.
"The developing electricity markets in the BRELL electricity systems require a review of the principles for providing each other with emergency reserves of power both in case of a shutdown of the generating equipment and a shutdown of network elements. An agreement to that effect is currently been prepared," the statement said.
