MOSCOW, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko held talks here on Monday, nodding on a bilateral gas deal, said the Kremlin.
The two heads of state agreed on the principles of the sale of Russian natural gas to Belarus and payment for it in 2009, said Kremlin spokesperson Natalya Timakova.
"This price has been agreed upon on conditions quite acceptable to Belarus," Interfax cited a member of the Belarusian delegation, who refused to tell the actual price.
The two former Soviet Union states, which have pledged to establish a union state, witnessed rifts in bilateral ties in recent years due to disputes over energy prices.
