MOSCOW, December 1 (Itar-Tass) - Moscow named Minsk's reasons for postponing a session of the Supreme State Council of the Russia-Belarus Union State as "sophisticated".
A Kremlin official said the presidential press service "explained the situation". "As for the explanations of the Belarussian president's entourage, they are sophisticated," the official said. He called for "not worrying. Certainly, Alexander Lukashenko is in hopeful mood",
Due to mass media reports saying the State Council session is postponed, the Kremlin press service said: "In accordance with the Russian-Belarussian agreement with the participation of the Permanent Committee of the Union State the agenda has been prepared for the session. December 1 was being considered one of the possible dates of the session."
"Due to Belarus' proposals to change the agenda and make amendments to the earlier reached agreements on signing documents, which should be thoroughly prepared, Russia proposed to gather for a session as it scheduled," the press service said.
"In addition, all new Belarus' proposals should be examined during the meeting between the heads of state and instructions should be given to finalise them and prepare coordinated decisions," the press service reported.
Belarus decided to postpone the session in order to prepare a meeting between the heads of state.
Russia did not see any obstacles for organising such meeting shortly, the Kremlin press service said.
