Belarus FinMin says gas pipelines worth over $5 bln

MINSK, Dec 20 (Reuters) - Belarus believes its local gas pipelines are worth at least $5 billion, the country's Finance Minister Nikolai Korbut said on Wednesday, citing a valuation by auditors from Dutch ABN Amro Bank.

Russia's ambassador in Minsk, Alexander Surikov, earlier said Russia might agree with Beltransgaz's valuation of $3-4 billion, a crucial step for a deal under which Russia would take a stake in the firm in return for selling Belarus cheap gas.
