MINSK. Nov 5 (Interfax) - U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has sufficient information on the situation in Belarus, U.S. Charge d'Affaires ad interim in Belarus Jonathan Moore said.
The CIS context, the relations with the CIS countries were partially the issues of the presidential address, so Obama has received sufficient information on the political and economic situation in Belarus, Moore said.
Asked about a possible change of policy toward Belarus, Moore said he did not expect any serious changes in the U.S. policy in the area of the democratic principles and basic freedoms. This will be preserved in the U.S. policy, he said.
