In January-September 2008, the trade between Belarus and Moldova increased by 62.3% to make up $268 million. The Belarusian export made up $196.3 million, or 84.1% up over the same period last year. The Moldovan import to Belarus made up $71.7 million, or 22.5% up, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarus Economy Ministry.
Over the nine months 2008, Belarus posted a surplus in trade with Moldova to the tune of $124.6 million, or $76.5 million up over the same period last year.
In the period under review, Belarus increased the supplies of oil products, condensed gas, tractors, truck-tractors, fiber boards, tires, plywood, lime carbonate and other goods.
Belarus increased the import of Moldovan wines, distilled spirits, calcium sulphate, anhydrite, plaster, medicines, fresh tomato, glass containers.
