Russian Threatens To Deploy Missiles In Belarus To Counter US
(RTTNews) - Wednesday, Russia warned the United States that it could deploy short-range missiles to Belarus as part of its efforts to counter the planned deployment of US missile defense systems in Europe, Russian news reports said.
"Any action meets a counteraction, and this is the case with elements of the US missile defense in Poland and the Czech Republic," Col.-Gen. Vladimir Zaritsky, the chief of artillery and rocket forces for the Russian Ground Troops, was quoted by the ITAR-Tass news agency as saying.
