MINSK, Belarus (Thomson Financial) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said his country must build a nuclear power plant in order to guarrantee its energy security going forward, Interfax reported.
'We have determined that the development of our own nuclear energy industry is the only way to guarantee our national security,' Lukashenko said at a meeting to outline plans for the reactor.
He did not say how much power the planned plant will generate.
