Belarus to consider Abkhazia, S. Ossetia status

RBC, 08.09.2008, Moscow 14:38:31.Belarus will consider the recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia as independent states following its parliamentary elections scheduled for September 28, the Vesti TV channel cited Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko as telling Russian journalists today. The leader also complained that certain Russian media disliked Belarus and alleged that Russia had neither allies nor friends. Lukashenko criticized the statements, saying that Belarus had always been, and would remain, Russia's close ally.
