Agreement Signed in Baku of Establishment of Azerbaijani-Belarusian Joint Enterprise on Furniture Marketing

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr TrendCapital K.Ramazanova / In Baku on 11 September, the Belarusian company Gomeldrev and Azerbaijani Company 'Azles Export-Import' signed an agreement to establish a joint venture in a furniture business in Azerbaijan, Nikolay Patzkevic, the Ambassador of Belarus to Azerbaijan, said on 11 September.

At the initial stage the JV will involve the sale of furniture. "There are prospects for components of the furniture to be produced here [ Azerbaijan]. It is cheaper and more profitable," the Ambassador stressed.

In August the shareholders of Gomeldrev made a decision to open a furniture shop in Baku. Currently furniture is produced in Italy, Romania, Turkey, Poland, Czech and Iran with local furniture being manufactured in small numbers.
