Belarus to decrease wheat imports to 80 thsd tonnes
In the current year, Belarus plans to reduce wheat imports by 90 thsd tonnes, declared Vladimir Grakun, the head of the main department of plant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, on August 13.
At the beginning of 1990th, the country imported nearly 500 thsd tonnes of wheat of hard varieties, but in recent years - 170 thsd tonnes only. In the current year, the country plans to purchase 80 thsd tonnes of hard wheat, marked V.Grakun.
As a reminder, previously, the Ministry of Agriculture reviewed the possibility of organization of Belarusian wheat exports. But the government decided to postpone the issue till the end of the harvesting campaign, added V.Grakun.
