Belarus to harvest 760 thsd tonnes of rapeseed
In the current year, Belarus plans to harvest 760 thsd tonnes of rapeseed in bunker weight, declared Vladimir Grakun, the head of the main department of plant growing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, on August 13.
In 2009, rapeseed sowings occupied 400 thsd ha, however due to the weather conditions the harvesting areas lowered by 50 thsd ha, marked he.
According to the representative of the Ministry, in the following year the country will sow the oilseed throughout 427 thsd ha. In 2010, the production volumes will total 1 mln tonnes of rapeseed.
Belarus started winter rapeseed sowing campaign, agrarians sowed nearly 18% of planned areas, marked V.Grakun.
