Beltelecom unveils USD125m network development plan
Belarusian national PTO Beltelecom plans to invest a total of BYR350 billion (USD125 million) this year to improve its telecoms networks and services. Local online news journal e-Belarus.org says the money will be targeted on: increasing local phone network capacity; increasing capacity of digital/intercity stations, transit nodes, connecting line ports; deploying new fibre-optic lines; increasing port access capacity for Beltelecom's network (including broadband access); increasing the number of Wi-Fi access points; and broadening the operator's data processing centre network.
