Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko admitted he fixed the results of a March 2006 national vote, saying he fudged the numbers downward.
At the time 93 per cent of the people voted for me, Lukashenko told Russia's Izvestia newspaper.
I gave the command for a result of around 80 per cent, because result over 90 % is psychological barrier in world opinion, Belarusian president added.
According to official results, Lukashenko election with 83 % in 2006 was considered undemocratic.
Aleksandar Lukashenko governs with Former Soviet Union country since 1994, and the former American Administration named him "the last European dictator".
