Belarus supports Russia's decision on breakaway republics

RBC, 29.08.2008, Moscow 17:28:57.Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko sent a message to Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday stating that Minsk understood and supported Russia's decision to recognize the independence of South Ossetia and Abkhazia. According to spokesman for Russia's Foreign Ministry Andrei Nesterenko, the issue on the recognition of the two republics would also be discussed during the meeting of the Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Moscow on September 5.
