Belarus completed mass harvesting campaign - the crop totaled 8.92 mln tonnes
Belarus has completed its mass grain harvesting campaign, according to the Main Department of Plant Growing of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
Grain has been harvested throughout 2.3 mln ha. Additionally, farmers have begun to harvest buckwheat and millet.
The grain crop in Belarus totaled 8.92 mln tonnes, up 1.58 mln tonnes compared to the previous year. It is the highest grain crop in the history of independent Belarus.
Grain crop with maize will total 9.3 mln tonnes, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Food. An average yield totaled 38.8 c/ha as opposed to 30.8 c/ha in the previous year.
