On August 26 2008, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a decree approving a draft intergovernmental agreement between Belarus and Turkey on the cooperation and mutual assistance in the customs area, reported belta.
The presidential press service told BelTA that the agreement defines the terms of cooperation and providing mutual assistance in the customs area for the prevention and investigation of the violations of the customs law. This agreement will help raise the efficiency of the customs bodies of Belarus and establish a closer cooperation with the Turkish customs services.
The agreement is to be signed by chairman of the State Customs Committee, Alexander Shpilevsky.
