RBC, 19.08.2008, Moscow 09:59:13.Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will hold a meeting with his Belarus counterpart Alexander Lukashenko in Sochi today. It is expected that the two leaders will discuss the prospects of strengthening bilateral cooperation in relation to the forming of a single economic space, as well as an increase in trade and cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, and international security. Russian and Belarus Presidents will also discuss preparations for the next meeting of the Collective Security Council of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) to be held on September 5, 2008, and for the meeting of the heads of state of the CIS scheduled for October 10, 2008.
Today's meeting between Medvedev and Lukashenko is being held in accordance with an agreement that was reached during the Russian President's visit to Brest on June 22.
