Belarus marking Independence Day on Thursday

MINSK, July 3 (Itar-Tass) -- Belarus is marking the main state holiday - - Independence Day on Thursday. In the republic, it coincides with the day of liberation of Belarus from German-fascist invaders. The decision to mark these two dates on the same day was adopted by Belarussians at a referendum in 1996.
