EC offers new landmine destruction project to Belarus

The European Commission has prepared a new project to destruct fluidal landmines and sent a relevant proposal to the government of Belarus in June, Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the EC Delegation to Belarus Jean-Eric Holzapfel told reporters on July 10, reported Belta.

"We have started a new project worth EUR 4 million. We sent our proposals to the Belarusian government in June. If the terms are acceptable we will be able to implement the project," he said.

Earlier there was a similar project worth EUR 3 million. "However, no tender was held then and no contract was signed," Mr Holzapfel said.
