Russian mobile retailer Svyaznoy has acquired a controlling majority stake in Belarusian retail group Belaya Vezha, reports E-Belarus.org. Details of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Belaya Vezha retail chains Focus and MegaPlus have acquired the right to work under the Svyaznoy brand. By the end of 2007, Svyaznoy intends to turn Focus and MegaPlus into mobile communications centres and Svaiznoi 3 galleries, while keeping photo printing services.
Svyaznoy will invest $2m in re-branding and re-formating the stores.
