Belarusian incumbent Beltelecom has launched a tender for the provision of next generation network (NGN) equipment, reports E-Belarus.org.
The NGN equipment will be used to deploy universal mail services, which will let fixed telephone subscribers use a voice mailbox to send SMS messages and faxes to mobile users. Beltelecom expects to launch universal mail services by the end of this year.
Applicants have until 14 August 2007 to submit their bids. The winner of the auction must provide the equipment by the end of Q2 2008.
