Russia hopes Belarus will be more careful in following the contract on supplies and transit of the Russian gas, Russia's president Dmitry Medvedev said during a video link from Canada's Huntsville.
The video link featured Gazprom's head Alexey Miller.
Medvedev is satisfied that the conflict is over but said that Belarus had better have not accumulated debts to prevent such conflicts.
The transit of Russian gas to Belarus has been fully stabilized, the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller said. On Thursday, Belarus paid off its gas debts and Gazprom paid for the transit according to rates set out in the 2006 treaty.
The 2006 agreement has not been amended yet and is to be amended and signed shortly.
