Gazprom demands Belarus to pay off its $200 million debt

The Russian energy giant Gazprom has urged Belarus to pay off its $200 million gas debt. "Under the current contract, we can cut gas supplies to Belarus in proportion to its debt", Gazprom`s CEO Alexei Miller said during a meeting with the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.

The Russian leader said Moscow would give Minsk five days to pay off the debt.
