MINSK, May 7 (Itar-Tass) - The Belarussian national central Interpol bureau has joined the search for Belarussian citizen Irina Ekpo-Umo who was kidnapped in Nigeria.
Belarussian-born Irina, 50, married a Nigerian university student who studied in Minsk and went to Nigeria for permanent residence.
Her parents in Belarus died, but other relatives remained.
An Interior Ministry official said that Irina's maiden surname was known, but it was inexpedient to divulge it as yet.
In Nigeria, Irina was one of executives of the company Compass Group that catered food to oilfields.
Armed militants abducted her in Port Harcourt, a center of the Nigerian oil sector.
