Belarusian Opposition Marks May Day With Rally
Several hundred people took part in an authorized march and rally in Minsk on May 1 to observe May Day, Belapan and RFE/RL's Belarus Service reported. Participants in the rally adopted a resolution with socioeconomic and political requirements, which included a call on the government to annul the contract labor system in Belarus and a demand to release all political prisoners.
