Moscow welcomes Belarus' invitation to EU Eastern Partnership summit

MOSCOW. April 17 (Interfax) - Russia welcomes the European Union's decision to invite Belarus to the Eastern Partnership summit, said presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko.

"We are delighted that a realistic approach toward Belarus has prevailed in Brussels," Prikhodko told Interfax on Friday.

"We have been trying to persuade our partners in the EU for years that the policy of sanctions or isolation toward our friend Belarus has no prospects," Prikhodko said.
