In the village Baruny (Oshmyany district of Grodno region) in Belarus was opened a memorial sign, established in memory of the heroic victims of crew of Ilya Muromets 16 plane during the First World War, BELTA reported referring to the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belarus. Amongst the victims was the first Azerbaijani pilot Farrukh Gaibov.
The event was attended by staff of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Belarus, Belarusian diplomats, representatives of the Ministry of Defense of Belarus, as well as the local district authorities.
Authors - Belarusian sculptor V.Kolesinsky and architect V.Burniy - have done a tremendous job: For maximum accuracy in the transfer of images, they examined dozens of old photographs from the archives.
