Belarus: EU Extends Visa Ban

EU foreign ministers voted April 10 to extend a visa ban against Belarusian officials that prohibits Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and 30 other government officials from entering any EU country. The action is a response to the March 19 presidential election in Belarus that EU officials say was "severely flawed." Further actions, including freezing of Belarusian assets, still are possible, the officials said.
