Belarus: condition of winter crops sowings is satisfactory
Belarusian scientists estimate the condition of winter crops sowings in Belarus as satisfactory, declared Fedor Privalov, Doctor of agricultural sciences, the General director of the Research and Practice center of agriculture of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
According to F.Privalov, to date snow covering protects winter crops from frosts. Spring frosts will provide the most essential threat to winter crops sowings.
As a reminder, according to Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the country, in 2011 winter grain sowing areas total 1.55 mln ha, winter rapeseed - over 453.5 thsd ha.
