Belarus promises tit-for-tat to EU sanctions

Belarusian authorities will respond in kind to the EU's decision to deny entry visas to a number of the country's top officials.

A statement issued in Minsk on Monday deplores the decision made by the Council of Europe and warns that Belarus will now have to "adequately" respond to it.

The EU black list of undesirable Belarusian officials includes 158 persons, including President Alexander Lukashenko and his two sons.
