Russia and Belarus were set to sign a deal Feb. 3 that would create an integrated air-defense system, RIA Novosti reported, citing a Russian presidential aide. Officials previously have said that the system - which would be commanded by either a Russian or Belarusian Air Force or Air Defense Force senior commander - would include five air force units, 10 anti-aircraft units, five technical service and support units, and an electronic warfare unit. The agreement was to be signed at a Union State Supreme Council meeting in Moscow, where presidents Dmitri Medvedev and Alexander Lukashenko were presiding.
