Ukrainian Vice Speaker and Belarusian Ambassador to Ukraine discuss development of Ukrainian-Belarusian relations

Mykola Tomenko and Valentin Velichko reached agreement on the further revival of interparliamentary cooperation within the work of the interparliamentary commission on cooperation between the National Assembly of Belarus and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Tomenko stressed the need to step up the interparliamentary component of Ukrainian-Belarusian cooperation. Velichko, in turn, pointed to the positive dynamics of deepening cooperation between Ukraine and Belarus at the highest level proved by the recent meeting between Presidents Viktor Yushchenko and Alexander Lukashenko. He also praised the work of the Ukrainian-Belarusian intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation.
