Council of the European Union: EU HR Javier SOLANA to visit Belarus on Thursday, 19 February 2009

Javier SOLANA, EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP), will visit Belarus on Thursday, 19 February 2009.

Mr Solana will meet President Lukashenko and Foreign Minister Martynov in Minsk. The High Representative will also meet opposition leaders, including former presidential candidate Aleksandr Milinkevich, and representatives of the civil society.

The trip will be an opportunity to discuss the latest developments in Belarus, EU-Belarus relations and regional issues.
