MINSK, Feb 6 (Reuters) - Belarus is paying around $200 or "slightly more" per 1,000 cubic metres (tcm) of Russian gas supplied in the first quarter, about 70 percent more than in the same period last year, Russia's ambassador in Minsk said on Friday.
"In the first quarter, it will be around $200, maybe slightly more," Alexander Surikov told reporters. "The average price for the year may hover around $150."
In the first three months of 2008, Belarus paid Russian gas export monopoly Gazprom (GAZP.MM) $119 per tcm of gas. (Reporting by Andrei Makhovsky, writing by Tanya Mosolova)
