Small business owners across Belarus have been receiving verbal and written warnings from representatives of the local authorities about "mass" inspections regarding their compliance with the work schedule on 10 January, the Belarusian news agency Belapan reported on 9 January, quoting Viktar Harbachow, leader of the small business owners' association called For Free Development of Enterprise.
According to Harbachow, market vendors have received warnings that their licences will be annulled if they are absent from their work places on 10 January. Harbachow links the forthcoming inspections to the plans by small businessmen to stage a rally in central Minsk on that date, Belapan said.
