RBC, 12.01.2007, Moscow 11:54:17.The Russian-Belarusian intergovernmental discussions suspended last night have been resumed in Moscow. According to the press office of the Russian cabinet, Russian PM Mikhail Fradkov met with his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Sidorsky at 10:30 a.m. The delegations of the two countries are expected to join them soon. Russia will be represented by Economy Minister German Gref, Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, Industry and Energy Minister Viktor Khristenko, Deputy Economy Minister Vitaly Savelyev and Deputy Finance Minister Sergei Shatalov.
As reported earlier, the parties embarked on the negotiations yesterday night. Fradkov opened the session stating that the oil issue had had a negative effect on Russia's reputation as a reliable supplier of energy resources, and that it had incurred losses. He said that the solution to the oil issue should be comprehensible and transparent, and based on the necessity to maintain as profitable a cooperation as possible.
