Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said Jan. 17 that a reserve system will be implemented in his country. He said military service has become prestigious, and that the system will allow "all real men" to become soldiers. He added that the government will do all it can to ensure the Belarusian military will be one of the best in the former Soviet Union. Presidential elections in Belarus are to take place March 19.
