Milinkievich: Belarussians have to fight for independence

25.01.2006 Warsaw (PAP) - Recent ten years in the history of Belarus are marked by the return of Stalinist-time repressions, presidential candidate of the Belarussian opposition Aleksandr Milinkievich told the Polish Sejm on Wednesday.

He added that Belarussians had to fight for their independence, honour and homeland.

Earlier, at a meeting with Sejm Speaker Marek Jurek, Milinkievich said that democratic transformations in Poland showed the Belarussian nation the meaning of the civic community.
