Belarusian Election Committee has refused to cancel the results of the December 19 presidential elections disputed by the opposition candidate Grigory Kostusev. The defeated candidate accuses the winner, Alexander Lukashenko, of jobbery and falsification. However, the Election Committee found his grounds inconsistent and is going to approve the results on Friday.
The opposition has already protested against the elections. The rallies were dispersed and their organizers detained.
