Belarus Prosecutor General has no information on President Kurmanbek Bakiyev's whereabouts

Prosecutor General of Belarus declares they have no information on the whereabouts of President Kurmanbek Bakiyev.

This answer came today at the request of the main oversight body of Kyrgyzstan to extradite the deposed head of state.

Recall that following the April events 2010, when the opposition came to power in Kyrgyzstan, the second president of the country left Bishkek and arrived at his ancestral village Teyit in Jalal-Abad region. He spent there few days with his family members and then flew to the Republic of Belarus under the mediation of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, and at the invitation of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko.

All these months, according to numerous media publications and the speeches made by the deposed president, he resides in the territory of Belarus under the protection of the official Minsk.
