Belarus: Church Evicted

Forum 18 News reports that on Aug. 20, New Life Full Gospel Church in Minsk, Moscow, was released an eviction notice by supervision officials, forcing them to desert their church building purchased in 2002.

The church is austere they do not fear a government's threats. "We're here praying and trust God will strengthen us," Sergei Lukanin, a church's counsel told Forum 18 News. "As a counsel we trust a state could do anything, including a use of force. But as a follower we rest on God."

Government authorities have not disclosed because a church is being evicted, though have regularly refused to extend a church's focus for registration. In 2002, Belarus upheld a limiting sacrament law that done all unregistered eremite activity illegal.

New Life Full Gospel Church is one of many churches in Belarus confronting increasing restrictions by a government. Forum 18 News pronounced given Jul a supervision has fined dual other churches in a western city of Baranovichi.
