Belarus' Government approves international technical aid projects

The Council of Ministers adopted Resolution No. 1570 approving a number of programmes and projects of the international technical aid.

Upon the proposal of the commission for international technical cooperation, the Council of Ministers of Belarus approved the 2007-2013 trans-border cooperation programmes Poland-Ukraine-Belarus and Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus. The Foreign Ministry was commissioned with a task to coordinate the work of the national authorities and other interested organizations on the implementation of these programmes.

The resolution of the Government affirms international technical aid programmes related to information exchange about best technical practices in the Republic of Belarus and the role of rural women in the rural community development. The coordinators of these projects are the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection and the Minsk City Council respectively.

Apart from that, the Council of Ministers of Belarus adopted Resolution No. 1573 and Resolution No. 1574 to hold negotiations on draft agreements between the Government of Belarus and the European community on the financing of the trans-border cooperation programmes Poland-Ukraine-Belarus and Latvia-Lithuania-Belarus. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov was authorized to hold talks and sign the agreements.
