FBD: Heineken Belarus CEO Henk van Helderen to resign in January 2010

December 11 2009 - Henk van Helderen, CEO of Heineken Belarus, will officially resign from January 14, 2010 due to the expiration of his employment contract, while Alexey Chernyaev, general director of OOO "United Heineken Brewery" (Russia), will be named as his new successor, according to Belarus media reports.

Henk van Helderen was appointed as a general manager of Heineken Belarus in January 2007. According to the company's press-release, under the leadership of van Helderen, the company has successfully implemented some unique projects and started the process of import substitution. For less than two years the Syabar plant owned by the company launched licensed production of three international brands: "Doctor Diesel", "Gessar" and "Zlata's Bazant". At the same time this year, the company's exports rose by 80%.

Moreover amid the financial crisis the company was able to expand its portfolio of local brands and to increase the market share of its Rechitskoe flagship brand by 2,5 times.

Before being appointed general manager of Heineken in Belarus Henk van Holder worked in such companies as Philips (Netherlands), AT & T (USA), Merloni (Italy), Interbrew (Belgium).
