4 Belarusian Enterprises Have Been Licensed for Exports of Animal Products to Russia

Federal Agency for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision (Rosselkhoznadzor) has allowed exports of products of animal origin from four Belarusian enterprises to the Russian Federation without limitation as to time: Lyakhovichsky Dairy Plant, Slavgorodsky Dairy, Osipovichsky Dairy Factory and Verkhnedvinsky Creamery. This agreement was reached during the negotiations held in Moscow on December 3, 2008, as Mikhail Saveliev, the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Food Supplies of Belarus (Minselkhozprod), said to Belta's reporter.

The aforementioned plants were included in the list of those 20 enterprises, on animal product exports of which Rosselkhoznadzor must have imposed the restrictions pursuant the results of inspections held in August of the current year. The term for the restriction introduction was postponed from November 1 to December 1 and then to December 20 pursuant the agreement reached during the negotiations between Aleksey Gordeev, the Minister of Agriculture of Russia and Semyon Shapiro, the Minister of Agriculture and Food Supplies of Belarus. Thus, at present all the 20 Belarusian enterprises export their products to Russia.

As for other 16 enterprises of the list, Rosselkhoznadzor requested from Minselkhozprod the additional information on conduction of monitoring of those enterprises and elimination of shortcomings revealed during the inspections held by Rosselkhoznadzor in August of the current year. "We will be able to provide this information on December 8", - Mikhail Saveliev added. According to the Russian party, the final decision on the Belarusian exports of animal products will be made till January 1, 2009.
