Belarus posts CIS highest production growth in January-October

In January-October 2008, Belarus' industrial production grew 12.8% over the same period of last year, posting the highest in the CIS, BelTA Office in Moscow received the data of the CIS Interstate Statistics Committee.

Coming in second was Kyrgyzstan with 12.1%, then Azerbaijan (8.4%), Russia (4.9%), Armenia (4%), Kazakhstan (2.9%), Ukraine (2.2%) and Moldova (2%). The industrial production in Tajikistan fell 3.2%. There is no information on Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Georgia in the CIS Statistics Committee.

Over the ten months CIS industrial production grew 5% as against the same point of 2007. At the same time in October 2008 the production in the Commonwealth reduced 2% from October 2007
