Belarus, Russia manufacturers develop crisis management proposals

Belarusian and Russian manufacturers and entrepreneurs have developed a package of proposals to counteract the consequences of the global financial crisis. The anti-crisis measures were discussed by Chairman of the Belarusian Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (BCIE) Anatoly Kharlap and First Executive Vice-President of the Russian Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs Alexander Murychev, BelTA learnt from the Confederation.

The sides pointed out the intention of the public organizations to provide direct assistance to the governments of the two countries to localize the problems that emerged in the productive sector of economy. They will also remain committed to the joint projects in petrochemistry, machine-building, transport and energy saving. It is stipulated in the memorandum adopted by the Belarusian Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs and the Russian Union of Manufacturers and Entrepreneurs in September 2007. These non-commercial public organizations will help attract investment resources of the two countries for the modernization of the existing and the establishment of new productions based on cutting-edge technologies.

Alexander Murychev told BelTA that no decision is made in Russia without taking into consideration the opinion of entrepreneurs. a?sI know that your government closely cooperates with unions of entrepreneurs and listens to their opinion, too. It is absolutely normal, because goals that have been set cannot be achieved without joint efforts, absolute understanding and objective evaluation of the problems. It is called private-state partnership between business and government,a?t Alexander Murychev said.

During the meeting in Minsk the sides came to the conclusion that Russian and Belarusian business should stick together and carry on the programmes related to the Russian investment in the Belarusian economy and the coming of Belarusian entrepreneurs to the Russian market. Apart from that, it is necessary to encourage demand for the products and sell them a?sat understandable prices and tariffs,a?t Alexander Murychev added.
