Belarus-CIS trade hits $36 billion in January-October

Over the ten months of 2008, the trade between the Republic of Belarus and the CIS members states amounted to $36.03 billion or 50.6% up from the same period of 2007, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Economy Ministry of Belarus.

In the period under review, the export to the CIS countries rose 43% to reach $12.905 billion; the import increased by 55.2% up to $23.125 billion. Belarus' deficit in the trade with the CIS member states amounted to $10.221 billion.

Russia accounted for 84.3% of Belarus' trade with the CIS member states, 72.9% of Belarus' exports to the CIS countries and 90.7% of the imports from the abovementioned group of states.
