Belarussian President Lukashenko satisfied with gas talks held in Moscow

MINSK, December 24 (Itar-Tass) - Belarussian President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed satisfaction with the results of talks on natural gas he held with the Russian leadership in Moscow.

According to him, the parties reached an agreement in principle on setting the "falling" gas price for Belarus. "From January 1 to December 31, 2009, the price will fall 2.5-3 times and will be acceptable for us," Lukashenko told journalists in the Brest region on Tuesday evening. Belarus is grateful to the Russian side. "We shall not leave the favour unanswered, we shall work out this," he added.
